We are committed to an efficient and sustainable use of energy
Encevo Group is active along the whole energy value chain, from production to services. It is a key player in the energy transition in Luxembourg and the Greater region. As the global climate crisis calls for ambitious initiatives, Encevo Group will redouble its efforts in energy efficiency, renewable energies and decarbonisation.
In Luxembourg, Encevo Group plays an important role in supporting the country in the implementation of its ambitious energy and climate plan. An important aspect of a sustainable energy transition is energy efficiency. Encevo Group can act at all levels of energy efficiency improvement.
Through different subsidiaries, our group assists companies and municipalities in managing their daily energy consumption. Enovos, for example, uses incentives such as communication campaigns or the granting of premiums for energy efficient renovations called enoprimes. In the services branch, various group subsidiaries (e.g. energieagence, Global Facilities, …) offer energy consulting or energy management solutions. This can include energy audits, the recommendation of less energy-consuming solutions, advising the installation of photovoltaic panels to help customers achieve a certain degree of autonomy and more.
As half of the country’s energy consumption comes from mobility, decarbonising transport is the biggest challenge ahead. Electromobility is therefore being promoted nationwide, as it allows the use of renewable energy and as electric engines are more efficient.
After deploying the Chargy network, Creos, the grid operator of Encevo Group, deployed the first high-speed charging stations in January 2021. Group subsidiaries in the domain of technical services are also helping major private and public players to install additional charging stations on their land. Finally, Enovos, via its enodrive card and its application, facilitates access to the recharging network and has even extended this service internationally to offer more mobility and independence to its users.
These few examples reflect our group’s strategy, to give every entity the means to drive the energy transition forward in their respective domains and hopefully make all the pieces of this puzzle come together in the end.
Enovos is the energy partner to support individuals, companies, property managers and municipalities in their efforts towards a more sustainable energy use.
Enovos launched the enoprimes programme in 2015 to encourage customers to reduce their energy consumption. The programme also serves to provide financial assistance to individuals, professionals and municipalities when carrying out certain energy efficiency measures. It thus plays a major role in Luxembourg’s national obligations relating to energy efficiency.
With the enoprimes programme, Enovos saved 700 GWh of energy during the last 5 years, (2022 realised a total of 160 GWh, while 2023 saw a total of nearly 170 GWh). In 2023 Enovos registered more than 6,500 applications in the enoprimes programme. Overall, in the last five years, more than 10,000 requests were handled and a total of 100,000 tons of CO2 was saved.

In order to fully implement energy efficiency, you need the right tools that help monitor your consumption. Having completed its smart meter rollout, Creos will be able to manage more efficiently its grid and customers will get the opportunity to effectively monitor and optimize their entire energy consumption. Customers will have new options, while suppliers and service providers will be able to identify new opportunities regarding energy efficiency measures.
The investments operated by Creos put the customer in the passenger seat. He can retrieve more information about his consumption or production and thus save energy by adapting his habits. In the future, energy suppliers will be able to issue invoices based on actual consumption instead of estimates and thus create new added-value services.

We are actively pushing decarbonisation
Renewable energies are a core purpose of Encevo Group. In order to support a sustainable energy transition, we focus on developing and operating in the Greater Region projects producing energy from renewable sources. In Luxembourg, the group already has a large photovoltaic asset base and continues to develop wind park projects. Additional photovoltaic and wind projects are developed in Germany, especially in Saarland, the Netherlands and Belgium. Through subsidiaries or joint ventures in Luxembourg, Encevo Group is also active in the field of biomass in combination with heating/cooling networks and in hydropower. Creating partnerships is a key to success in renewable energy projects. This is shown for instance through the development of photovoltaic installations via joint ventures agreements with Post, Cactus, RTL Group and others.
The group has also made huge progress in the field of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for big industrial clients and smaller projects, in Luxembourg as well as in Germany. For example, the Group supplies the charging station network Chargy in Luxembourg with 100% green energy.
Enovos is a major player in Luxembourg and the Greater Region in the planning, implementation and operation of renewable energy projects.
In Luxembourg, wind energy projects generating a total capacity of over 150 MW have been developed with Soler, a joint venture between Enovos Luxembourg S.A. and SEO S.A., which also operates hydroelectric power plants in Luxembourg.
In the field of solar energy, Enovos Luxembourg S.A has planned or completed large-scale photovoltaic installations with partners such as RTL Group, ArcelorMittal, Goodyear, Arthur Welter Logistics, Post, Luxtram, Panelux, Cactus, and more.
These installations include Luxembourg’s first large ground-mounted PV installations, as well as innovative concepts such as car park shades or floating PV. The overall installed renewable capacity in Luxembourg alone amounts to nearly 250 MW and the portfolio of projects foresees additional capacity (wind and PV) to be installed on the territory of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
In addition, the subsidiary LuxEnergie offers energy contracting turnkey solutions in the field of biomass in combination with heating/cooling networks.
Furthermore, Enovos develops solar energy projects in Germany, notably in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate, but also in the Netherlands and Belgium. The PV park Südeifel, which was commissioned in spring 2024, is the biggest PV park of the Greater Region and will offer an additional capacity of more than 200 MW of solar power. Wind energy assets are held, not only in Luxembourg, but also in Germany with a special focus on Saarland.
In Germany, the group and its subsidiaries rely on cooperation with regional energy suppliers as well as partnerships with project developers and plant manufacturers for consistent expansion.
Enovos increases the local wind and photovoltaic footprint and enables together with partners the realisation of sustainable projects to contribute to the Greater Regions energy future.
Currently, Enovos has an installed capacity of 516 MW which generated a renewable energy production of 849 GWh in 2023.
A sustainable energy transition requires strong and reliable grids. The national climate and energy plans of Luxembourg and its neighbouring countries aim to significantly increase renewable energy generation and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The direct repercussions thereof on grid activities will be quite substantial in the area of both power and gas.
This is why Creos Luxembourg S.A will upgrade the capacity and the intelligence of its power grid systems in the coming years, in particular the capacity to transport energy produced from renewable sources in the north (e.g. wind and sun) to the regions in the centre and the south as well as the reinforcement of the high-voltage interconnection lines with the German grid. Additionally, Creos Luxembourg S.A. will undertake the necessary steps to prepare the gas grids for decarbonised gases.
Creos Deutschland GmbH works on further integrating renewable energy in its electricity grid and intends to launch projects in the field of sector coupling, repurposing of gas grids and hydrogen.
As is the case for the whole Encevo Group, a sustainable energy transition is at the core of Creos’ mission in Luxembourg and in Germany.
Increasing the share of renewable energy is essential for a sustainable energy transition. In this context, Paul Wagner & Fils has specialized in the construction of large photovoltaic (PV) installations. These installations are vital tools for achieving a sustainable energy future. The services provided by Paul Wagner & Fils encompass the entire lifecycle of PV systems, from initial preparation and meticulous installation to ongoing maintenance and optimization. Their showcase projects include the most significant PV installations in Luxembourg. Moreover, Paul Wagner & Fils has installed numerous PV systems for various companies, enabling them to actively participate in the energy transition while simultaneously reducing their carbon footprint.
We enable you to produce your own energy
There are many roads to the energy world of tomorrow. The vision of a fully decarbonised Greater Region will require the increased production of renewable energies and improved energy efficiency. But the role of the consumer will also have to change fundamentally. The Encevo Group sees its role as a catalyst in order to ensure that this transition will be sustainable.
What will be the role of the consumer? He will be tomorrow’s prosumer. This means that everyone will be able to produce his own energy, for example producing power through solar panels installed on one’s roof, and storing it in batteries installed in one’s cellar. As the prosumer lives in a highly energy-efficient house (heat pump, smart thermostat, instantaneous monitoring of energy consumption, …), he will be able to either store his surplus, use it to charge his electric car in his garage or inject it into the grid – which in the meantime will have become intelligent – so that others can benefit from it.
Besides the supply with green electricity and green gas to a wide range of customers, Enovos Luxembourg S.A. supports the development of decentralised renewable energy in Luxembourg through the “fonds nova naturstroum”. It offers premiums for renewable energy projects and studies carried out by individuals, municipalities, public or educational institutions, NGOs, certain companies, non-profit associations and cooperatives. Additionally, “fonds nova naturstroum” supports projects in the field of energy efficiency, eco-technologies and the rational use of resources in Luxembourg. Since 2005, “fonds nova naturstroum” granted more than 4.600 premiums for an amount of more than EUR 3.600.000. Further details and the premium request form can be found online.
In Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, decentralised renewable energy installations and services are offered through municipal utilities in which our group holds shares.
The integration of an increased number of renewable energy sources coupled with the rapid further development of electromobility is at the core of the efforts in Luxembourg and the Greater Region to achieve a sustainable energy transition.
For Creos Luxembourg S.A., this constitutes a major challenge because the installations will not only have to be connected, but production and consumption have to be managed effectively.
Creos Luxembourg S.A. has been aligning its organisation to these new challenges through a massive investment in the power grid infrastructure and its digitisation. These investments will help to progressively shift the focus of the supply backbone from large central generation units to decentralised generation while also taking into consideration the flexible needs of local photovoltaic depending strongly on weather conditions.
Creos Deutschland GmbH, with its 450 km long medium and high-voltage grid in Saarland, will also ensure that its grid remains attractive for renewable energies.
Every contribution counts in the energy transition.
Beyond large-scale systems, many smaller PV systems play a crucial role in expanding renewable energy production. Teseos actively promotes the deployment of these solutions among individuals, encouraging the adoption of smaller-scale rooftop installations.
Minusines is another key player in this value chain. Among its many services, Minusines is involved in the distribution of high-quality photovoltaic panels, robust mounting systems, and efficient heat pumps installed mostly by its customers but also by Grethen and C. Schanen, companies that are part of the Teseos Group. Both companies boast over 70 years of experience in heating and plumbing installations, providing a dedicated team of professionals who offer comprehensive maintenance and repair services to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
diego offers a holistic approach to end customers, from assessing the potential for electricity production on rooftops to proposing and installing the necessary equipment.
